This flame failure device is a necessary safety requirement for gas burners on most domestic appliances, including cookers, gas fires and gas boilers etc, and can obviously be incorporated on other industrial gas fired appliances. The solenoid valve holds the valve open until the flame is detected, and then de-energised. If the flame fails, the valve closes.
